Summary of Jewell's National Rankings for 2023

Money magazine 

Money named Jewell to its Best Colleges in America 2023 list. To find colleges that combine quality and affordability, Money reviewed more than 2,400 four-year public and private nonprofit colleges, then narrowed the list to 736 schools based on those with more than 500 students, that were not in financial distress and had graduation rates above the median. The Best Colleges were assigned a rating out of 5 stars, and Jewell received a 4.5 star rating based on quality (30%), affordability (40%) and outcomes (30%). Read more.

 

U.S. News and World Report

Jewell was the highest ranked college of any category in the Kansas City area in the U.S. News and World Report 2024 Best Colleges lists. Of the 83 schools in the 12-state Midwest regional category, Jewell ranked as the No. 2 Best Value College determined by academic quality and the net cost of attendance. Jewell tied at No. 8 overall in the Best Midwest Colleges category based on first-generation and Pell graduation rates, peer assessment, first-year retention, financial resources, student-faculty ratio and other factors. The Princeton Review 

Jewell was named to The Princeton Review's 2024 list of The Best 389 Colleges. Only 15% of the country's four-year schools earn this distinction. In addition, Jewell was among the 209 Best Value Colleges for stellar academics, affordability and strong career prospects for graduates, and was named a Best Midwest College. Washington Monthly 

Jewell is among the nation's top 10% of the 242 Best Bachelor's Colleges, placing at No. 24. The 2023 College Guide rates schools on their contribution to the public good (research, social mobility, public service). Jewell also ranked No. 11 for graduates who go on to earn a Ph.D., No. 14 for student and faculty research, No. 19 for service and No. 27 for graduation rate. Learn more about Jewell's impact on the public good.
