Rewarding achievement, talent, leadership and passion
Jewell wants to reward your hard work and talents as you join our community of thinkers and doers.
Our generous donors support scholarships so more students may experience Jewell. In 2020-2021, 60% of the incoming class received a merit-based academic scholarship. At Jewell, 96% of all students receive financial aid through merit and athletic scholarships and need-based grant programs. Combined with competitive tuition and a four-year graduation guarantee, our scholarships and grants make William Jewell one of the most affordable private colleges in the Kansas City region. Read on to learn more about our new scholarships.
If you have an exceptional academic record, we have dozens of ways to make a world-class, private-school education more affordable for you. Have a strong ACT or SAT score, too? Your test score can take your total award to the next level. Typically, two out of three students qualify for an Academic Scholarship, and one out of three students receive additional need-based grants as a result of completing the FAFSA or CSS Profile.
To qualify for an Academic Scholarship, students entering from high school must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative high school GPA. Test score awards are available for students beginning at a score of 24 on the ACT or 1170 on the SAT. Students transferring from another college or university must have a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA. All First-Year Academic Scholarships are renewable for four years (eight full-time semesters) and Transfer Academic Scholarships are renewable for two years (four full-time semesters). Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA in order to renew. Most awards are available to applicants admitted to the College before Dec. 1, however, funds and awards may become limited due to demand and a highly qualified applicant pool.

Net Price CalculatorTo maintain any institutional aid, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester while maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Scholarship renewal eligibility is reviewed at the end of each academic year. Any institutional aid that also includes a participatory mandate may still be impacted if this basic renewal criterion is met but the student is no longer eligible to participate in the co-curricular or academic program. Institutional aid is defined as Academic, Departmental, Athletic, Tuition Remission, or any scholarship/grant from William Jewell College.
