Amy Barth, Ph.D.

Dr. Barth is clinically trained as a speech-language pathologist with broad training in language development and disorders and the language basis of reading disabilities. Her long-term research goal is to understand how both domain-specific and domain-general abilities affect reading comprehension performance so that children with language and literacy disorders can be reliably and accurately identified, described and treated. She is the recent recipient of 2R15 HD092922 from the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The purpose of this award is to examine the role of knowledge retrieval in inference-making among middle grade students with reading difficulties.
